Facilities

Each of the four cottages sleeps two people, with the option of a third bed for families. They are all individually decorated with a beautiful mixture of polished stone and natural wood – all locally sourced. King-size beds and private verandas feature throughout, with the latter making the most of the incredible views from the lodge’s elevated position.

The lodge’s main buildings are spread along the escarpment, above the cottages, linked by winding pathways that are bordered by giant aloe plants. A swimming pool clings to the cliff edge and the dining room is an elevated ‘room with a view’, where the Francombes join evening meals. The local Samburu people are an integral part of the lodge’s personality, acting as hosts and guides throughout your stay.

Just five minutes away is Ol Malo House – a six-bedroom private house that is perfect for larger groups. Designed in a similar style to the lodge, it shares the same spectacular views.

Activities

The activities include the usual game drives and walks, but you can also try camel safaris, horseriding, fishing and river tubing. For the even more adventurous there is the opportunity to spend a night in the leopard hide for the chance to catch a glimpse of these elusive animals.
