The Oberoi Sukhvilas Resort & Spa is an exquisite luxury spa resort in Chandigarh, surrounded by over 8,000 acres of the Siswan Forest at the foothills of the outer Himalayas.
The opening of Oberoi Sukhvilas revives an old historic trail from Punjab to the Himalayas. The circuit offers great combination with The Oberoi Cecil, and Wildflower Hall, near Shimla.
Chandigarh has a hidden surprise – the Rock Garden, a park of sculptures. Government official Nek Chand painstakingly and in secret, created over two thousand figures of dancing girls, animals and musicians from recyclables. The entire collection was put together and declared a public park in 1976.
The Villas and Tents all have private pools and gardens. The Kohinoor Villa actually has three bedrooms and temperature controlled private 55 feet pool. The tents evoke the times of the British Raj when travelling caravans of royalty would rest overnight under magnificent canopied shelters.
There are a further 46 Premier rooms are located in small clusters around the resort. The spa, set deep in the forest will offer the best in eastern and international wellness programmes. A choice of two restaurants are available, one being an Indian speciality
The Spa hotel is located just 30 minutes outside of Chandigarh. The city has just been anointed UNESCO World Heritage Status for its Corbusier designed Capitol Complex. India’s first planned city, Chandigarh, was drawn meticulously into life by the French-Swiss urban planner, Le Corbusier. Majestic government buildings set amid soothing greens and self-contained residential areas make this city a pleasure to visit and a joy to explore.
