Movenpick Resort is set on Elephantine Island, in the middle of the River Nile with the town of Aswan on one side and the beginning of the western desert on the other. The hotel is set on 23 acres and has over 400 rooms and suites, most of which have a balcony or terrace.

Additional facilities include a choice of restaurants plus a spacious outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a gym.

Why we like Movenpick Resort Aswan

The Movenpick is located on Elephantine Island in the middle of the River Nile. While the hotel building is a bit of an eye-sore, the 360-degree views from the panoramic bar and restaurant are a firm favourite with our clients. Families love the Kid’s Club and the childrens’ pool in this hotel.

The resort located on Elephantine Island and reach via a five minute boat ride from a jetty in the centre of Aswan. The nearest airport is 40 minutes drive although many people arrive into Aswan on a cruise.

The Oberoi Philae is just out of this world. We had a gorgeous cabin and watched the Nile slip timelessly by whilst enjoying superb food and top class service.

Oberoi Philae - Egypt

We loved Egypt, mesmerised by the amazing pyramids at Giza and seeing them from our beautiful room at the Marriott Mena House. Despite the unbelievable traffic in Cairo mixed up with intrepid donkeys, horses and carts, we managed to get to all the sites with our first-rate driver and great guide. It was a fantastic experience due to Steppes first-rate planning and knowing what we wanted.
