Speak to our experts to talk about how best to include a stay at Misool in your holiday to Indonesia.
The core belief is to protect and conserve. Misool is back to nature at its most stunning best.
Eight stilted water cottages, four north lagoon villas and seven south beach villas make up the accommodation options, with additional facilities including a beachside restaurant and dive centre. Communal hub The Hive overlooks the house reef with views of the surrounding archipelago and is a wonderful spot to relax in a hammock, read a book or enjoy a morning coffee.
Misool is a stunning resort, owned and managed by people who are genuinely devoted to the preservation of this beautiful region of Indonesia.
Misool sits within some of the most heavily fished waters in the world. In 2005, a powerful partnership between the resort and local communities was established, leading to the creation of the Misool Marine Reserve.
Every stay here helps fund the management and protection of this 1,220-square-kilometre protected area. It comprises two no-take zones – the first in the region – which provide a precious sanctuary for fish and other marine species.
Snorkel and dive the world’s richest reefs amongst the Marine Reserve, a sanctuary for marine life. Work with the rangers for a day to protect turtle hatchlings – ready for their night-time release and explore the nearby lagoons by stand up paddle board. On land visit the local village with a member of staff to gain an understanding of life here. Spend a lazy day as a beach castaway, join a birdwatching walk, night-time star gazing cruise or an Indonesian cookery class.
Due to the isolation of the resort, solo dives are not allowed and no dives deeper than 30 metres.
Misool is a private island resort located in remote southern Raja Ampat, 165 kilometres (105 miles) from the nearest port, and the nearest village is 20 kilometres away by boat. Due to its location stays at Misool are a minimum of seven nights on island plus one in Sorong for connecting flights and boat transfers. Misools private boat will ensure a smooth, comfortable journey between the mainland and the resort.
