Matetic Vineyard La Casona

A recently refurbished century-old estancia set in the heart of the San Antonito Valley, Matetic Vineyard La Casona is boutique property nestled in between the capital city of Santiago and the port town of Valparaiso.

The on-site Equilibrio Restaurant offers authentic Chilean cuisine that is inspired by their ‘slow food’ philosophy and made from locally-sourced ingredients, all paired with fine wines.

Comprised of only 10 delightful rooms, each adorned with wooden floors, individual decoration and high ceilings, the wineries’ accommodations are set amongst the pretty gardens and lush countryside of the Rosario Valley.

A long outdoor swimming pool is nestled within the landscaped gardens and provides cooling respite from the high sun, and guests can even get involved with grape harvesting from March to May.

The vineyard produces world-renowned wines that are a step above organic, made from grapes that are harvested manually (and rather unusually) in accordance with the cycle of the moon.

Sustainability

As part of their commitment to sustainability, Matetic Vineyard La Casona only utilises organic and biodynamic farming techniques and promotes soil quality through ongoing testing. Truly believing that grapevines are innately capable of developing resistance to diseases and pests, this is a vineyard that exists in total harmony with the ecosystem.

Activities

A lesser-known colonial-style property, this rustic vineyard offers wine-tasting tours, delicious culinary experiences, cooking classes, bicycle excursions, gentle walks and horse-back explorations. The on-site Equilibrio Restaurant offers authentic Chilean cuisine that is inspired by their ‘slow food’ philosophy and made from locally-sourced ingredients, all paired with fine wines.
