Marataba Safari Lodge

Marataba Safari Lodge set at the foot of the Waterberg Mountains, on a private concession in the malaria-free Marakele National Park.

Beautifully designed, this unobtrusive lodge incorporates burnt-red stones and pale woods, decorated with African pieces of art and antiques. The open-plan design means that communal areas are relaxed and spacious.

The tented suites are interesting, airy design constructed from canvas, timber and stone set on elevated, round platforms. Oversized stone bathtubs are a feature of the bohemian-style bathrooms. All suites open out to a private deck, overlooking the meandering river; above the savannah landscape, the spectacular mountains rise into a beautiful backdrop to the already wonderful views of the reserve.
