Kigali Serena Hotel £££££

The former Intercontinental, the Kigali Serena Hotel sits very much in the business category of hotels, so with this comes a slick service and whole range of facilities. It is a little on the larger side with over 100 rooms, but they are all well turned out, clean and surprisingly big. When you step into the cavernous lobby, you know what you are getting, smiles, professionalism and incredibly helpful staff. Despite a more corporate feel than other options in the city, this is still a great choice if you want to catch up on a few home comforts before or after gorilla trekking and one of the most international hotels from a luxury point of view. It even has a gym and a pool, the former we doubt you’ll use, but the latter a nice spot to sit in the sun and relax before your flight home.
