Kaafila, the name derived from an Urdu word meaning convoy or caravan, is India’s newest and most exciting luxury mobile camp.

With spacious tents complete with proper beds, attached bathrooms, and a living area the camp gives access to great destinations not yet on the tourist map.

Kaafila operates in central India, well away from the usual tourist trail – a region bursting with hidden treasures – and the spectacular high passes of Ladakh depending on seasons.

The Kaafila experience takes you away from the tourist track to remote, interesting and beautiful places that are brought alive by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the people that guide and assist you.

The benefit of this nomadic style private camp ensures that you are just where you want to be at the right moment – to catch a festival or witness wildlife – whilst staying in real comfort with a small group of your chosen friends or family.

Facilities and Activities

Each luxury tent has an Indian theme with fabrics reflecting that found in Northern India. Expect home comforts but bear in mind that everything here is designed to be mobile and leave no footprint.

The tents have comfy bedding and each tent has an ensuite bathroom where you will find a copper washbasin with water dispensed from an adapted milk can, and instead of a shower, two large buckets with hot and cold water.

Activities vary and our tailored in each region and for each group. There are fishing rods for Indian lakes where sport fishing is allowed. There are excellent opportunities to walk and cycle. What really stands out at Kaafila is the exceptional guiding. Remember these places are off the beaten track.
