Accommodation

Below you can see some of the wonderful places we recommend you stay on your journey.

Mweya Safari Lodge £££££

  • Uganda
  • Safari and Wildlife Lodge
  • Tented Camps

Whilst much more of a hotel than a lodge, each of the comfortable air-conditioned rooms caters for those who prefer their accommodation on the larger side. All of the rooms have their own private balconies overlooking the Kazinga channel or Lake Edward and whilst the lodge may lack some of the more intimate character of the smaller lodges nearby, Mweya is hard to beat in terms of comfort, range of facilities and location for game viewing. For those looking for something a little nicer, the lodge offers some surprisingly comfortable Meru style tents raised on the hill to the side of the main lodge, offering more privacy and even better views.

Kyambura Gorge Lodge £££££

  • Uganda
  • Safari and Wildlife Lodge

Colourful, bright and contemporary, this great little lodge feels like a Mediterranean garden home, livened up with coloured glass and even more colourful fabrics. The airy and light rooms, make clever use of light bamboo and simple furnishings to combine comfort and style. Huge, open living spaces in the main area, incorporate weathered pieces collected from around the site of the lodge in its former life as a working coffee plantation. A delicious, lazy lunch can be taken in the shade of the pergola outside, before lounging in the huge cushions and hanging chairs, looking out across the commanding views of the Rwenzoris and the gorge after which the lodge is named. At night, the candles add atmosphere and whilst the food is always good, the goat curry is out of this world.
