Finca Lerida is a 23 room boutique hotel located on the lower slopes of Baru Volcano, just a 10-minute drive from the town of Boquete.
This is a tremendous location for bird watchers The property borders Volcan Baru National Park and is not far from the UNESCO designated La Amistad National Park.
There are various room types ranging from standard, Scandinavian influenced garden rooms to suites. All rooms feature a TV, Wi-Fi and are non-smoking. Temperatures here range between 60 & 80 degrees year-round and so there is no need for heating or air-conditioning. The Monniche Restaurant offers fine international cuisine along with a traditional menu.

Panamonte Inn & Spa is just a short stroll from Boquete in beautiful gardens at the foot of Volcan Baru. Guest rooms and suites are air-conditioned and surrounded by flower gardens. Standard rooms have either twin or queen beds. The Garden Terrace rooms are in a separate building and offer more generous living space with vaulted ceilings, king beds, large bathrooms and wraparound terraces.
I have always wanted to see the Panama Canal, but John’s suggestion of sailing in the Guna Yala was a fantastic addition that we had not considered prior to speaking with him.
