An iconic and luxury hotel during the 1930s, this traditional art deco building has been restored and renovated by award-winning Danish architect Adam Kurdahl and re-opened its doors as the Fera Palace Hotel.

During its heyday, this historic building played host to names such as Orson Welles, Pablo Neruda and Carmen Miranda. Set over eight floors, the 81 contemporary guestrooms have been elegantly furnished to capture the glamour and style of the buildings past.

Villa Bahia Pousada is located in the heart of Salvador’s historical centre, close to the Jorge Amado Museum, the Lacerda Elevator and the Praca da Se overlooking All Saints Bay. It is a charming colonial hotel with 17 bright and spacious rooms, each themed to celebrate key moments in the history of the Portuguese discoverers and their trade exchanges in the spice trade. Rooms on the top floor have a private terrace with rooftop views of the city – its colourful facades and famous bell tower. Villa Bahia Pousada’s restaurant serves traditional Bahian cuisine as well as other dishes. There are also two secluded patios where you can relax and unwind and a pool.

The Convento do Carmo is a beautifully restored 16th-century convent situated at the top of a steep cobblestone street in the historic Pelourinho district of Salvador. There are 79 rooms and suites all situated in the building’s original sleeping quarters. Each room exposes elements of colonial architecture, including ancient beams and rafters, coupled with period-style furnishings to retain the original character and grandeur of the historic building.
