Faraway Bay is a bush camp that lives up to its name, nestled in a far corner of the rugged Kimberley coast. Eight spacious cabins are elevated and scattered amongst the bushland ensuring that each is completely private, and all have 180-degree views of the cliff-lined bay.
Each cabin has an outdoor solar-heated spring water shower, also with sea views. While the cabins themselves are simple, they have everything required to ensure a comfortable stay. The communal area known as Eagle Lodge houses a freshwater plunge pool and spa pool.
From the wonderful cliff top location, it is possible to spot dugongs, sharks and even crocodiles in the bay below. With a maximum of 16 guests at any time plus incredibly knowledgeable staff, a stay here really does offer an exclusive experience and the chance to immerse yourself in the isolation and beauty of the Kimberley.
Mealtime is a communal affair when guests sit together with the chance to chat and swap stories whilst dining on freshly caught Barramundi, Mangrove Jacks and reef fish. All meals and drinks are included in a stay at Faraway Bay.
A stay at Faraway Bay is all about soaking up the wilderness and this can be done in a whole host of ways. Take a 4WD excursion, explore by boat on a cruise to the amazing King George Falls, go fishing or bird watching or head out on foot in search of some ancient rock art. Close to the lodge, the beaches are great for beachcombing and evenings are perfect for stargazing around the campfire.
Wildlife is prolific, in particular, birdlife with many birds visiting the camp including brahminy kites which visit each morning for breakfast.
Faraway Bay is located 280 kilometres northwest of Kununurra and is accessible only by air on a 60-minute flight from Kununurra.

Amy was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful and with a good sense of humour. Our holiday would not have been as successful and enjoyable without her guidance and input.
