Set behind a magnificently carved facade that leads to a contemporary sky-lit lobby, Casa Andina Premium Arequipa is a national monument in its own right.
Its stone-walled bar and restaurant, serving a fusion of traditional Arequipa delicacies and haute cuisine, opens out onto a central courtyard, while the fourth-floor terrace boasts impressive views of the cathedral and distant El Misti Volcano.
A meticulously restored former colonial mansion, its 40 simple and tasteful rooms and suites are spread between four floors. The impressive stately Senior Suite features original stone walls, chandeliers and colourful carpets and comes with its own private entrance, an interior patio with views and a jacuzzi.
More akin to a living museum than a hotel, Casa Andina Premium Arequipa was built in 1794 and still retains much of its original antiquated interiors. Combine its bare stone walls with huge window installations and its archaic paintings with pops of red upholstery and you will find one of the most unique properties in all of Arequipa.
A colonial-era Peruvian city that is framed by three volcanoes, Arequipa is jam-packed with baroque buildings made from white volcanic stone. Within walking distance of Casa Andina Premium Arequipa is the city’s stately and historic main square, which boasts a 17th century neoclassical Basilica Cathedral turned museum that displays sacred artefacts and artwork.
Casa Andina Premium Arequipa is strategically situated just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas and is also close to Santa Catalina Convent.
