Why we like it

This lovely itinerary combines some of China’s less visited areas with the spiritual city of Lhasa, staying in a combination of 5 star hotels and the comfortable Shangri La Express train. These remote areas, away from the normal tourist trail can often be harder to access with sometimes simple accommodation. However, this itinerary removes any hassle plus the bonus of extremely comfortable accommodation. Travel on the highest rail pass in the world before spending three days exploring the beautiful palaces and Buddhist shrines on the ‘Roof of the World’. A perfect holiday for those with an adventurous spirit who don’t wish to forgo comfort.
