What to expect on your holiday to Seychelles
Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands sitting in the middle of the Indian Ocean, halfway between Africa and India. More than just a beach paradise, Seychelles is a living museum of natural history and a sanctuary for some of the rarest species on Earth. These include the smallest frog, the heaviest land tortoise and the only flightless bird of the Indian Ocean.
The Inner and Outer Islands
The Inner Islands – more accessible and home to some of the most impressive hotels – are granitic in nature. These rocky extrusions come with beautiful beaches but contrast starkly with the less visited Outer Islands. These are largely coralline in nature – more atolls than islands. Low lying and incredibly remote, they are barely inhabited, apart from by tortoises and an array of colourful bird species.
