As an introduction to our extraordinary country, this itinerary combines the very best of what London and the Cotswolds have to offer. Spend a few days in the incredibly diverse and fascinating city of London, where you explore the key highlights and get under the skin of the city. An extraordinary melting pot of culture, history and architecture, there is something of interest for everyone and you may even find it a little hard to leave. 

London Sites

Your guided tours take you past many of the major sights and landmarks of London. You will see (exterior only) Westminster Abbey, where monarchs have been crowned since 1066, Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard (subject to the schedule), the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and Eros. Take a drive past Downing Street, Harrods, London Eye, museums, galleries, the areas of Soho, Piccadilly, Kensington Palace, Albert Hall, and much more before stopping for lunch. No London tour is complete without a pub lunch. Situated on the edge of the River Thames, lunch in a pub over 300 years old. Visit the Tower of London, the most impressive medieval fortress in Britain! Built by William the Conqueror, during its history it has been a palace, a prison, a zoo, a royal mint, an observatory, an armoury and a place of execution. It is home to the Crown Jewels, the ravens and famous Beefeaters. From here move on to Tower Bridge and then into the City of London, the one square mile that was built by the Romans over 2000 years ago. Take a river cruise from the Tower of London to Westminster Pier next to County Hall, famous London Eye and other world known attractions. Visit many more of the city's unusual and fascinating rarely seen monuments and treasures. Still within the city you will visit the site where the Great Fire of London started in 1666, then travel the short distance around to St Paul's Cathedral. During the course of your tours you will visit shops that are over 300 years old and still trading, visit a pub that sells corpses, see a house with false windows, a Roman Bath, a medieval Banqueting Hall, Winston Churchill's cigar chair. Have a photograph with an original gas lamp, visit a Dead house, Roman Landmarks, an Execution Dock.... this list is endless. We would tell you more but we don't want to spoil the surprises!

Cotswold Highlights

Leave London with your private driver/guide and visit Oxford en route to the heart of the Cotswolds. Here you stay for a few days where you visit Highgrove House, the residence of Prince Charles and explore the entire Cotswolds, the largest area of outstanding beauty in the British Isles.

See a perfect mix of lush green landscape, quaint quintessentially British villages and towns made rich by the wool trade steeped in centuries of history, grand stately homes and dreamy private gardens. Villages and towns to visit are Chipping Campden, Blockley, Snowshill, Stanton, Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Bourton on the Water, Cirencester, Castle Combe, Lacock, Bath, Tetbury and Stow on the Wold. Time permitting head to the extraordinary Warwick Castle and Stratford upon Avon. There is just so much to see and this tour covers it.

Day 1

Day at leisure in London


London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.

Day 2

Full day tour - London highlights and secrets
Your guided tour takes you past many of the major sights and landmarks of London. Day 3

Full day visit of Greenwich Village
Meet your driver at your hotel lobby for transfer to South East London's hidden gem - Greenwich Village. Meet your guide - a local expert - at the Sir Walter Raleigh Statue next to the Cutty Sark ship for a full day walking tour of Royal Greenwich. This area of London is hugely overlooked by visitors but in actual fact is the jewel in London's crown. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and packed with sites including the Cutty Sark Tea Clipper, the National Maritime Museum, the Old Naval College and the Royal Observatory, home to Greenwich Meantime - all of which you will visit on your tour. See views of London like no other from the Royal Observatory and stand across the Meridian Line dividing the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Have lunch at a traditional riverside pub along the way. Your tour will end in Greenwich at about 4pm when your driver will take you back to your hotel.


Evening Thames River cruise with dinner
This evening take a Thames River Cruise on-board one of the spectacular vessels and experience a four-course dinner with welcome drink, ½ bottle of wine per person and after dinner liqueurs followed by a live band and dancing. Glide down the River Thames, under the iconic Tower Bridge with a guaranteed window seat as London's sights pass by lit up in all their glory. You'll also have return private transfers to and from your hotel.

Day 4

Visit to Highclere Castle
Subject to opening, transfer to the impressive Highclere Castle* (the Real Downton Abbey) where on purchase of a ticket (limited number available on the day) take a guided tour of the castle and grounds. Should the Castle be closed visit the equally spectacular Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and the current home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough. **Entrance to Downton Abbey is not included in the package as it is subject to availability and payable on the spot. Current open dates are 7th - 23rd April 2017 Monday to Sunday.

Day 5

Drive from London to Oxford (Road Journey)


Visit Oxford
The guide will show you the main sites such as New College and Trinity College two of Oxford's most stunning college buildings, Bodleian Library the main university Library and one of the oldest in the world and if you wish to spend 30 minutes exploring the impressive Ashmolean Museum this can be seen.

Day 6

Visit Highgrove
The guide will pick you up from your accommodation in the Cotswolds and drive you to Highgrove, the residence of HRH Prince Charles to visit the fascinating gardens. The guide will wait for you and you will be shown the gardens by a Highgrove guide. The tour will take 2/3 hours.


Visit Tetbury
Visit the town of Tetbury, HRH Prince of Wales's hometown. Visit the Prince of Wales's shop and the many charming antique shops. From here we will find a stop for lunch either in Tetbury or on route back to your accommodation and possibly stop off at a couple of villages on the way back, depending on time.


Visit Westonbirt
Westonbirt Arboretum is incredibly beautiful arboretum to see one of the finest collection of trees in the world. Stroll around the park for an hour and a half.

Day 7

Tour of the Cotswolds
Start from your hotel accommodation for a full day private tour of the entire Cotswolds, the largest area of outstanding beauty in the British Isles.

Throughout the day you will see a perfect mix of lush green landscape, quaint quintessentially British villages and towns made rich by the wool trade, steeped in centuries of history, grand stately homes and dreamy private gardens. Villages and towns to visit - Chipping Campden, Blockley, Snowshill, Stanton, Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Bourton on the Water, Cirencester, Castle Combe, Lacock, Bath, Tetbury (if not seen before), Stow on the Wold (if not seen before).
