Thank you for making our Beyond Festival 2017 the biggest and best event at the Royal Geographical Society.
I hope that you will have some great memories from the weekend. The energy and enthusiasm of Nick Baker, the humour of Benedict Allen and Frank Gardner, Saba Douglas-Hamilton’s elephant-tracking videos. You might have cried with Edurne Pasaban, been in awe of Simon Reeve, laughed with Ran Fiennes, been impressed by Crista Cullen, wowed by Rebecca Lowe or inspired by Hanli Prinsloo, whom I am told absolutely nailed it. For me, seeing Steve Backshall inspire so many little people was the highlight.
And oh yes, the fact that we were privileged to have the world’s greatest oceanographer, Sylvia Earle, with us. I think her feedback speaks volumes:
“Thank you Steppes Travel for the opportunity to be included in the celebration of exploration and hope for the future of life on Earth. There is no better way to inspire humility about yourself and respect for others than to be at the mercy of those who do not speak your language, whether human, grizzly bear or shark.”
Dr Syliva Earle
