Casa Gangotena is located in the old town of Quito overlooking Plaza San Francisco, a historic square dating back to Inca times - and later the setting for grand and beautiful mansions.
Home to several presidents during the late 19th century, Casa Gangotena was damaged by fire, but then rebuilt in 1926.
The hotel now represents a beautiful heritage property, where original fittings have been restored in an Art Nouveau and contemporary style throughout the 31 suites all fitted with white marble bathrooms. There is an excellent third floor terrace with commanding views over the city. The dining room, located on the ground floor, serves an interesting fusion of Ecuadorian and international cuisine.
